Summer Intern
Description
The Summer Intern works in all departments of the Library. They have the opportunity to experience all types of obs in a public library setting. They assist with Summer Reading Programs as well as special programs. Assignments and projects may vary from department or branch and may change as the summer progresses.
Responsibilities
Assisting patrons in person or on the phone with self-diected transactions as needed, including self-checks, and print management, renewing materials and placing holds.
Provide accurate information and directional assistance to patron inquiries for locating items on the shelf. Assists patrons with basic use of library's public computers. Connect patron to the appropriate staff member for reference assistance.
Qualifications
Excellent customer services, communication, and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of MAC and PC computer skills with on going interest in new technology.
Demonstrate initiative and creativity.
Maintain a sense of humor, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
