Indiana INTERNnet is an internship-matching program linking employers, students, high schools, colleges and universities by providing both high-tech and high-touch support. It is a powerful high-tech web-based search, matching and reporting system coupled with "high touch" personal assistance and resource materials focused on creating or expanding high quality internship opportunities within the state.

Summary of position:

The program manager is responsible for the day to day operation of Indiana INTERNnet, which includes assisting with the statewide implementation, working with students, employers and education communities to create, expand and improve experiential learning programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (% of estimated time/frequency):

  • Responsible for state-wide career fair activities including determining which fairs to attend, executing registration and payment, and representing Indiana INTERNnet at the fair. (15%)
  • Develop and implement social media marketing strategy. Manage social media marketing tools, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Pinterest. Manage Indiana INTERNnation blog including writing and soliciting contributing articles. (15%)
  • Act as a first-tier user support for the organization including inquiry response, employer approvals and monitoring internship postings. Conduct user training in face-to-face and internet settings. (15%)
  • Provide day-to-day direction for Indiana INTERNnet interns. (15%)
  • Recruit employers to become actively engaged in offering internship programs to Indiana students. (10%)
  • Manage and distribute the em>em>INTERNnetwork electronic newsletter including writing and soliciting contributing articles for the publication. (10%)
  • Monitor and report digital media analytics and maintain Indiana INTERNnet’s metrics. (5%)
  • Serve as liaison to web developer through management of information contained on the website on both public access and user pages. (5%)
  • Support regional partner teams in their efforts to expand and improve experiential learning programs throughout Indiana. (5%)
  • Prepare presentation materials for various events, speaking engagements and meetings. (5%)

Nonessential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist executive director with other duties/projects as assigned and as necessary, including, but not limited to Annual Internship Symposium and employer workshop training events.
  • Assist with Indiana Chamber activities as required.

 Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with internship experience, preferably knowledge of Indiana INTERNnet web site.
  • One to two years post graduate work experience.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate information to a variety of community constituencies.
  • High proficiency utilizing social media in marketing applications.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Indiana’s higher education community.
  • High proficiency in computer literacy is required (Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint).
  • Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability and desire to cultivate professional relationships with the goal of furthering experiential learning throughout the State.
  • Availability to travel moderately throughout Indiana as required.

Direct Reports:

  • Incumbent has no direct report and therefore has no supervisory responsibilities.

Personal Work Relationships:

  • Candidate should have the ability to manage stress, work well with others and within a team, both externally and internally. Position requires candidate to work with all other aspects of the Indiana Chamber.
