Community Initiatives supports and implements community initiatives programs and activities for the Children’s Museum in order to build partnerships and awareness in the neighborhood, city, and state.

Summary
Community Initiatives supports and implements community initiatives programs and activities for the Children’s Museum in order to build partnerships that support free and reduced cost museum admissions, quality of life planning, and educational enrichment in the museum neighborhood, city, and state. The intern will assist with research, planning and implementation of the Mid-North Promise Program.
Internship Description
Possible internship projects include:
- Assisting in drafting bi-weekly newsletters to families and organizational stakeholders
- Assisting in researching age appropriate family learning activities for neighborhood families.
- Assisting with research projects and report writing on museum programs including neighborhood revitalization planning.
Qualifications
Intern should be:
- Pursuing one of the following majors: Education, Marketing, Pre-Law, Public Relations, Business Administration, Urban Planning and/or Government. Other majors will be considered.
- Two or more years of college.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and research skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail. The ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a diverse work environment. Must be able to invoke diplomacy in all situations.
- Available to work some nights and weekend for neighborhood events as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
- Always be professionally attired.
