Description
The Communications Intern reports to the Ag Communications Manager. The Communications Intern will have several tasks, including but not limited to, working on information booths, the Farmers Care Food Drive and contributing to communication materials all while working at the Great Indiana State Fair.
Responsibilities
- Help set up information booths; this includes collecting information and materials for the booths, assisting in training seasonal booth employees and helping to staff the booths during the Indiana State Fair.
- Develop information and communication resources for Fair Board members to use during the Fair.
- Compile entries and send out information dealing with the Farmers Care Food Drive and the Library Promotions Program.
- Handle several communication items such as the public address script, tractor shuttle script, Trip Tips, ambassador books, blog entries, etc.
- Assist the Ag Communications Manager with communications to stakeholders, customers, vendors, contractors, etc.
Qualifications
The incumbent must be 18 years of age or older and be able to work extended hours including Saturday and Sunday when necessary. Candidate needs to succeed in verbal and written communication, time management, and customer service. Social media experience is preferred.
