Teachers’ Treasures
Founded in Indianapolis in 2000, Teachers’ Treasures is a nonprofit organization dedicated to obtaining
and distributing free school supplies to Marion County teachers of PreK-12th grade students in need. For

Position: Mobile Outreach Program (MOP) and Event Coordinator Intern
Help implement, promote, and grow Teachers’ Treasures Mobile Outreach Program that delivers free
school supplies to teachers currently facing geographic, time and access barriers to using our bricks and
motor Teacher Free Store in Indianapolis. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Teachers’
Treasures Intern will assist with expanding the pilot program that was implemented in the Spring of
2016. You will have the opportunity to interact with teachers and school administrators all over the
Indianapolis area. As an event coordinator you will make connections with school and business leaders
in the community by helping assist the Executive Director and Resource Development Coordinator with
fundraising events such as preparation for our annual Dream Big fundraiser, Donut Dash 5K, and the
Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. In both capacities will also have the opportunity to assist and
coordinate volunteer groups.
Responsibilities
Specific duties include:
Help serve classrooms in need by operating and running the free remote store to teachers in
targeted schools in Marion County.
Assist with the design of print and electronic promotional materials including brochures, eblasts,
posters and other collateral materials to promote the mobile outreach program.
Analyze and interpret data to determine the effectiveness of the program.
Work with the Resource Development Coordinator, assisting with the planning and
implementation of fundraising events.
Schedule and manage volunteer groups to volunteer in the store.
Coordinate and complete projects based on the intern’s interests.
Assist staff with day-to-day operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
The position requires someone who is comfortable working independently. An interest in working in a
nonprofit environment is a plus. As is expected with all positions at Teachers’ Treasures, you will be
expected to represent Teachers’ Treasures in a professional, respectful manner to the public,
volunteers, staff, and board of directors. The MOP requires an ability to lift up to 50 libs. A valid driver’s
license is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an interest in non-profits.
Demonstrated excellence in organizational and communication skills.
Technical Skills- Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook. Working knowledge of access or donor data
bases is a plus.
Detail oriented.
Time commitment: This position is part-time with flexible hours to meet graduation requirements. Be
willing to commit 15-20 hours per week for a minimum of 16 weeks. Some evening and weekend work
may be required. Heavy lifting may be necessary.
Travel: This position may involve local travel throughout Indianapolis.
