Before/After School Teacher
Description
The teacher reports directly to the Program Director. They are responsible for the implementation and leading of all program activities. Before/After School Teachers are responsible for including but not limited to: ensuring the safety and well-being of all the participants, providing a fun experience for participants, maintaining requested paperwork and submission to the Youth Director, and other requested duties.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring the safety and well-being of students and providing a safe program environment.
* Oversee direct and lead academic, homework and enrichment activities of participants.
* Provides daily activities for participants.
* Keep record of supplies and request what’s needed for future projects.
* Complete head-counts of participants throughout various times of the day.
* Follow protocol found in the staff and parent program handbooks.
* Work effectively and cooperatively with parents, teachers and community partners to supervise and ensure quality services and safety of all students
* Serve as a role model by demonstrating appropriate speech, positive attitude and encouragement
Qualifications
Previous work experience with summer camp, after school program or large groups of children. Preferred experience in lesson and activity planning. Must desire to work with students ages 5-14 and maintain an outgoing and energetic personality.
