Description

The selected intern works as a direct assistant to the Protocol Officer and is involved in a complete process of operations of the Office of Protocol. They work as a Project Manager for specific projects assigned by the Protocol Officer. They help with assignments that include protocol and etiquette training, event management, flag setups, and logistic arrangements for visiting dignitaries.

Responsibilities

o             Curates the International Center’s flag collection

o             Assists in planning, developing, and implementing protocol   activities for clients

o             Assists in planning, developing, and implementing Sister Cities meetings, events, and activities

o             Researches protocol and etiquette for various countries and produces briefing books, tip sheets, and presentations

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills   
  • Excellent writing skills    
  • Strong research aptitude and/or skills    
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willing to be versatile and flexible, with a self-starter ethic
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
