Description
Dynamic opportunity to intern at Fort Wayne Dance Collective. Position will be directly supervised by the Artistic Director and will gain valuable insight into his daily activities and responsibilities. Additionally, the intern will have opportunities to work with the Executive Director and Development Officer to explore all areas of arts administration.
Responsibilities
• Gain hands on experience in Arts Administration and Artistic Direction; • Coordinate and document all programs and events. Events include a performance by internationally renowned Battery Dance from NYC; • Assist staff with special events and fundraisers, including festivals and events in greater Fort Wayne; • Assist Artistic Director in production planning and execution, including staging, set/costume design, and marketing; • Assist in promotion and distribution of marketing materials, including digital marketing (learn valuable skills such as Google and Facebook advertising); • Work concerts, workshops and special events in coordination with other staff members; • Inventory wardrobe and props.
Qualifications
• Must currently be enrolled in college or be one year post graduation; • Must be able to have a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours required; • Exceptionally strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; • Demonstrated creativity, flexibility and comfort in working with a variety of populations • Act as a self-starter with the ability to accomplish projects with little supervision; • Proficient using Apple computers, Word and Excel.
