Description

The Burmese American Community Institute (BACI) is a dynamic, forward-looking, and growing organization. We seek well-qualified, highly motivated, creative, and solutions-oriented candidates to join the development and fundraising department.

Responsibilities

  • Engages in public and donor relations.
  • Assess and re-develops fundraising tools and marketing packages.
  • Maintain and increase up-to-date knowledge of public and donor relations through daily reading (e-mail list serves, publications) and participation in webinars, staff meetings, and periodic offsite training.
  • Recruit groups and individuals for fundraising events, including, but not limited to, BACI partners and alumni via phone, email, social media etc.
  • Provide support for on-going development activities including prospect research and grant writing support.
  • Serve as ongoing point of contact for event participants before and after their event day.
  • Assess and re-develop social media marketing, recruitment, and event updates for events including Facebook updates, tweets, and website blog posts.
  • Provide event participants with necessary documentation in a timely manner, including waivers, directional maps, volunteer FAQs, and other necessary documents.
  • Manage participant and donor data in software programs.
  • Develop and manage fundraising incentive programs.
  • Attend and participate in event related activities and meetings.

  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
  • Enthusiasm for BACI’s mission and vision.
  • Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure positive, constructive environment within the program and throughout the Institute.
  • Flexibility and availability, including willingness to travel and work some weekends.
  • International experience – high degree of cultural sensitivity and competence.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintaining a sense of humor and a positive, solution-oriented approach.
