Description

Energy Improvement Matters is an energy consulting and grant writing firm on the northwest side of Indianapolis, very close to Interstate 65. We currently have an opening for a part-time Engineering and Technology major to help rural America become more energy efficient by supporting renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. We want a skilled intern to assist with grant writing and energy audits. The perfect intern would be a responsible, trust-worthy, hard-working, team-player who is able to take direction and has good computer skills. Hours are flexible Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Energy Improvement Matters is a small, family owned company, yet we have a large national footprint. We are one of the largest, most successful grant writing firms in the US helping farmers conserve energy.  To see one of the websites we developed, go to www.reapgrants.com. We will train you on the grant writing process. This is a job for someone that likes to learn something new each day, while still doing the basic tasks that all businesses need to do to succeed. We have office space within our home and there are other employees present during working hours. Lunch will be provided for interns.

Responsibilities

Intern responsibilities include:

  • Communicating clearly with co-workers and clients: This job requires you to talk to customers on the phone and work with a team in our office. Clear, written and verbal communications are essential, as is the ability to listen and help clients and co-workers complete their grant applications.
  • Using various computer programs to complete tasks:
    1. Microsoft Word (mail merges, tables and margins, screen captures)
      1. Outlook (send and track mail, manage and create distribution lists)
    2. Internet Explorer (online research using Google, etc.)
  • Demonstrating strong math skills and understanding of energy principles.
