span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">The Pod 7 Intern provides support services to the South Bend/Elkhart campus of Ivy Tech Community College. Under supervision of the Dean of Business and Public Services, this position will work with Ivy Tech students on an individual basis to help them overcome obstacles to academic and personal success.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">This primarily involves identifying challenges, strategizing solutions, referring students to needed resources, and following up with students to further support and motivate them. The Intern will serve as the critical first impression for students and visitors visiting the South Bend campus’ Pod 7.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;"> 

Responsibilities

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Serve as the first point of contact for Pod 7 visitors to greet them.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Maintain confidentiality of student interactions.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Document student interactions, resource and referral plans.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Maintain student interaction, resource and referral plan records for reporting purposes.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Assist in maintaining the professional appearance and general organization of the Pod 7, including work areas, common areas, and food pantry.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Follow up with students as necessary.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Become knowledgeable of Ivy Tech’s resources and community resources.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Utilize strong communication and customer service skills

Qualifications

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Must be enrolled as a student at Ivy Tech Community College with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Must be an outstanding team player, have excellent customer service skills and possess a professional demeanor.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Must be proficient with MS Word and have experience with various software applications.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Requires a self-motivated, outgoing, detail oriented and highly organized individual.

span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">Good grammar, oral, and written communication skills essential.
