Description

The Development Operations – Events Intern will be responsible for assisting the Donor Relations team with key aspects of the department’s operations, including the events, marketing communications and stewardship.  This position will work with all members of the Museum’s Development team and several internal departments across the Museum, with an emphasis on Events.    

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Support Development Events Manager with upcoming event duties and tasks.
  • Work with the Donor Relations team to define expectations and generate potential content for the Development communications plan.
  • Work with the Donor Relations team to fulfill individual and corporate donor agreements (i.e. signage, marketing, events).
  • Work with the Donor Relations team to produce internal and external donor communication pieces (i.e. eNewsletters, event invitations, travel brochures, sales sheets).
  • Shadow Donor Relations team members as appropriate at Operations meetings.
  • Work with Development Staff on one Development research project.
  • Serve as a member of the Power of Partnership Summit team. The Power of Partnership Summit is an annual event to honor and recognize the museum’s Corporate Executive Council, welcome prospective donors, and unveil the future year’s exhibit lineup.

Qualifications

Intern should:

  • Be a Junior/senior majoring in Marketing, Journalism, Philanthropy, or Nonprofit management
  • Have exceptional oral and written skills are critical to the position.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. This will facilitate the intern to more successfully navigate his/her responsibilities across departments at the museum.
  • Exhibit good organizational and research skills that are critical to the position.
  • Good time management, ability to meet deadlines and multi-tasking skills are critical to the position.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
