The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership exists to build a more prosperous Northeast Indiana for its residents.  Its mission is to build,  market,  and sell Northeast Indiana to increase business investment.  Its efforts to build the region focus on increasing educational attainment and growing the population by developing,  attracting,  and retaining talent.  The Regional Partnership Intern will help advance these efforts by managing a diverse portfolio of projects aimed at ensuring Northeast Indiana has the workforce required to meet the needs of current and prospective employers.  Among other projects,  the Regional Partnership Intern will work closely with the Vice President of Regional Initiatives to identify and create career pathways within the region’s most important industries.


Key Responsibilities and Experiences

  • Research
    • Research educational and training programs across the 11 county region;
    • Map available programming to identify career pathways in high wage,  high demand occupations within the region’s target industries;
    • Research various topics of importance to all Regional Initiatives priorities;
  • Marketing

    • Serve as a liaison to the marketing team in conjunction with the Regional Initiatives Project Manager to provide content for Regional Partnership blogs,  newsletters,  news releases,  and PowerPoint presentations;
  • Events

    • Plan and coordinate logistical arrangements for events and meetings,  including venue,  catering,  scheduling,  presentations,  handouts,  invitation and registration lists,  and pre-  and post-event communications;
  • Results

    • Provide appropriate support to the Regional Initiatives Project Manager in monitoring key metrics;
  • Other projects as assigned.



The Regional Partnership Intern must be a team player,  proactive worker and staff supporter.  The individual must have a High School Diploma or comparative level of experience in the workplace.   They should enjoy a challenge,  be comfortable with tight schedules and have a solid grasp on multi-tasking.  The intern should possess the following experience,  skills,  and characteristics:


Experience in:

  • Handling confidential matters
  • Using and learning a variety of computer programs,  including customer relationship management systems
  • Public relations,  including public speaking and presentations
  • Event coordination and scheduling


Skilled at:

  • Managing multiple and competing priorities and deadlines
  • Planning,  organizing,  executing,  and evaluating success
  • Clear and concise communication,  both written and verbal


Possessing these characteristics:

  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-directed and able to function successfully in an unstructured multi-tasking environment
  • Creative thinker,  from concept creation to implementation
  • Willing to make independent decisions and accept responsibility
