Description

This internship is to provide employment and educational opportunities. The intern will learn the inner workings of Purdue Extension in Elkhart County by working with Purdue Extension Educators, support team members, adult volunteers and youth grades one through twelve.

This person will be developing an office brochure and CD to "Tell the Extension Story" of Purdue Extension Elkhart County. They will also be working to improve the new office web site.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Creating an Office Brochure and CD to “Tell the Extension Story in Elkhart County”; show who we are and what we provide.

     a. Taking pictures and/or movies to include.

2. Working with our new web site to make it more interesting to today’s youth. Showing who we are and what we provide.

      a. Creating U-Tube videos which will be posted on our web site.

      b. Taking pictures we can use of our own youth to use on the web site.

       c. Further developing the web site.

3.  Agricultural and Natural Resources work

      a. Teamwork with Extension Educator on printed materials and ribbon  boxes necessary for 4-H livestock judging, open class, livestock and agriculture/horticulture judging

4.  Health and Human Sciences

     a. Teamwork with Extension Educators and volunteers on Home & Family Arts pre-fair materials, fair special contests, judging and follow-up

5.  Pre-fair judging

     a. Development of printed materials for judging boxes, awards, working with computer program determining enrollment and inputting results

6.  Fair

     a. Networking with 300 volunteers to arrange over 6,000 exhibits of 3,000 plus 4-H'ers

     b. Networking with volunteers and 4-H'ers on building supervision and action demonstrations

    c. Networking with media to make contacts for youth

7.  4-H Ten-year recognition

    a. Design, develop, photograph members, and create display for 150 youth
