Description

Since 1968, HealthNet has improved the health status of Indianapolis’ inner-city neighborhoods by making quality health services accessible to everyone. Through its network of 10 community-based, comprehensive primary care health centers, 9 school-based clinics, and support services, HealthNet annually provides affordable health care to nearly 60,000 individuals – many of whom live at or below the federal poverty level.

Interns will be supervised by the Director of Marketing and will also work closely with the External Affairs and Outreach teams. This internship is "intern-driven" so interns can tailor this intership to fit their interests and needs. For example, interns interested in social media and design will be tasked with projects in line with those interests and goals. The marketing team will meet with the intern at the start of their internship to discuss individual goals, interests, weekly tasks, and a semester-long project. The semester-long project will provide interns a real work example and experience they can take with them for their portfolio once the internship ends. Interns will meet with their supervisor weekly, but will also have access via phone, email, text, or chat at any time during their scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

HealthNet’s Marketing Department helps raise awareness in the community about the services HealthNet provides. Interns receive hands on experience in various areas such as publication design, video production, social media planning, podcast production and promotion, health promotions, community outreach, event planning, internal communications, marketing, and website content writing.

Qualifications

Must be in junior or senior year of college. Experience in InDesign and Canva preferred.  We accept Public Relations, Marketing, and Communications majors. Full-time or part-time; unpaid. We will work with you on any class credit requirements. This position is hybrid (in-person/remote).
