Description

This position reports to the Entertainment & Events Manager and performs as a member of the Entertainment & Events team while preparing and promoting the 2016 Indiana State Fair.

Responsibilities

  1. Main Street Stage management – Intern will serve as the stage manager & stage host/emcee each day during the 17-day Indiana State Fair. Stage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the stage, including artist management, admission, parking, production needs/requirements, and on-stage announcements, as well as execution of and fulfilling artist contracts prior to all performances. 
  2. Fulfillment of entertainment contracts and operational needs throughout the Fairgrounds: Free Stage, Grandstand, Family Fun Park attractions, Celebration Park attractions; Dance Stage; Farm Bureau Building auditorium; grounds & strolling acts; and some livestock education exhibits. 
  3. Coordinate travel arrangements for the 2016 Indiana State Fair Queen’s summer appearances statewide: researching & booking overnight accommodations; coordinating directions &  appearance details with county Queen Pageant directors. 
  4. Fiddle Contest and Kids’ Day Activities Coordinator – Intern will lead the coordination of these events. 
  5. Assist with planning & implementation of other Fair events, including: Band Day, Cheerleading Competition, Baton Twirling Contest, Youth Talent Contest, Hot-Air Balloon Launch, Daily Parade, and County Queens Day.

Qualifications

  1. Interest in Entertainment & Event Production

  2. Good verbal and written communication skills

  3. Strong stage presence and comfort with public speaking

  4. Attention to detail & organization

  5. Ability to work independently

  6. Computer skills: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint

  7. Team Player attitude – willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done!

  8. Motivation, be a self-starter
