Description
The selected intern works as a direct assistant to the International Visitors Program Manager. They are involved in providing administrative support to the International Visitors Program with regards to visitor scheduling and welcoming.
Responsibilities
Program Planning
- Helps plan for arrival of international visitors by preparing custom designed welcome packages, itineraries, and logistical details
- Researches web-based information to help build itinerary for groups of international visitors
- Researches cultural events for international visitors
- Program Delivery
- Assists in accompanying groups of international visitors to meetings with local professionals
Program Follow-up
- Helps with follow-up and data entry when projects have been completed
Proposal Management
- Organizes and maintains database of contact and reference information for local professional resources
- Researches specific theme-based resources for special projects as assigned
Volunteer Management
- Recruits staff and interns to serve as International Visitor guides, accompanying groups of international visitors
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong research aptitude and/or skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Willing to be versatile and flexible, with a self-starter ethic
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
