Description

This position provides assistance to physical, occupational and speech therapists for pediatric patients under the supervision of the Office Manager and Therapists. The therapy aide works with therapists, the Family Care Specialist and the Insurance and Billing Assistant to deliver care in a safe, friendly environment according to 321Go Kids’ Mission and Core Values.

The interns can expect to learn aspect of running a small business and will see and learn all aspects of business from cleaning, insurance, therapy sessions, documentation, etc. 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Duties: The following duties are not a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all interns in this role. Interns may be required to perform some or all of the duties listed, and may be required to perform additional duties as assigned:

Communicate information effectively between therapists and other staff members.

Support the administrative needs of therapists and other staff members.

      >  >

Under the supervision of a therapist, assist with therapy sessions and patient documentation.

Maintain confidentiality of patient medical records.

      >  >

Maintain safe and clean working environment by following all rules and protocols.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Ability to think quickly and change direction of therapy if needed.

Possess creativity, patience, and skills to work with special needs children and their families.

Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.

Possess strong communication skills and ability to articulate thoughts.

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with children of all ages, co-workers, families, and healthcare professionals.

      >  >

Job involves physical movement, including standing, sitting, sitting on floor, bending, squatting, walking, kneeling, etc.

      >  >

Requires normal, correctable vision and hearing.

      >  >

Lifting weights of various amounts, depending upon child’s weight.

      >  >

Environment is constantly changing, often stressful or noisy, primarily indoors. Some exposure to bodily fluids can be expected.
